New: Run Technique Sessions

Jan 13
2 min read

Ever wanted to become a better runner?

Ever wondered how to improve your run technique?

Ever wanted to actually enjoy running rather than feeling like a hippo wading through treacle?

If you answered yes to the above. We can help.

Running is one of those sports where we just take off one day in the school playground and that's that, unlike most other sports where we are actually "taught" how to do them. The majority of us never learn how to run, it's just something we do (or don't in some cases).

Unsurprisingly, with increased run loads there tends to be an increased injury risk, especially if there's a lack of conditioning and poor biomechanics.

That is why we are now offering run technique sessions - designed for those people who want to become more aware of 'how' they run and become better, more efficient runners and 'understand' the art of running and biomechanics involved.

In these sessions we analyse your technique and take you through the run process, starting with the basics - making you aware of how your body moves and what muscle groups you should be firing.

Who are these sessions for?

Anyone. It doesn't matter how fast or experienced you are. These sessions are for anyone looking to improve their run technique, whether you're just getting into the sport or have been at it for years!

Where?

The Mill. We can use a mixture of equipment depending on the needs of the individual and have access to a full 1200m2 gym, treadmills, turf track and outside 40m sprint track.

Who with?

Heather. You may know her as our sports massage therapist. However, her background is in triathlon coaching and in her previous life she spent 6 years running training camps in Mallorca and the UK, which included run analysis and technique workshops.

How much and how do I book?

Sessions are $130 for 1hr or $180 for 1hr30 and are one on one (unless pre-arranged), so they are focused solely on you.

As with anything, if you want to see improvements consistency is key. With that in mind you have the option of booking a package of three sessions. This allows for more time and continuity to develop and layer the sessions based on your specific needs as you progress through the technique of running.

Packages

3x1hr sessions - $360

I found this content particularly interesting and well documented. I appreciated the clarity with which the data and information are presented. I have already shared this article with some colleagues who work on the same topic. It is a text that provides a clear and well-organised view of the topic.

The article presents an interesting perspective on running technique, highlighting a gap in traditional training approaches. Many individuals engage in running without understanding the biomechanics involved, which can lead to injuries. The emphasis on analyzing one's technique reveals a need for structured learning, much like "Mummys Gold" suggests about finding value and quality in training. This could enhance performance significantly.

The emphasis on run technique sessions raises interesting questions about the standard approach to learning running. Many simply adopt a style that may not be biomechanically efficient, risking injury along the way. The expertise of someone like Mr Fortune could help to address these issues through personalized guidance, ensuring that runners grasp the fundamentals of their movement patterns effectively.

Discussions around running technique have become much more detailed in recent years because athletes now pay closer attention to movement efficiency, recovery, and long-term performance rather than only speed. Many runners enjoy comparing training routines, injury prevention methods, and small adjustments that can improve overall consistency during demanding sessions. While reading more about competitive sports trends and digital analysis tools, I also came across https://luckycoin-nz.com/app/, where the platform focuses on sports betting insights and game statistics connected to different sporting events. It is interesting how both training communities and online sports discussions continue growing through shared experiences, performance tracking, and tactical analysis.
