THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES AND BENEFITS:
Game Ready Systems deliver therapeutic modalities that can be used separately or in combination to help you get back to what matters comfortably and safely.
Cold therapy can help reduce edema (swelling), muscle spasms, and pain. Game Ready systems deliver deep-penetrating cold for convenient, comfortable, no-mess applications.
Heat therapy can help relieve pain and reduce joint and muscle stiffness. Med4 Elite heat therapy can be used alone or in conjunction with cold for contrast therapy.
Contrast therapy can help increase blood flow to the treatment site and decrease pain. The Med4 Elite revolutionizes contrast therapy delivery with an unmatched hot-cold changeover rate of less than one minute.
Game Ready systems use patented intermittent pneumatic compression to help pump away edema, stimulate the flow of oxygenated blood, and enhance the delivery of cold and heat therapies.
Shockwave Therapy uses a series of ultrasound shockwaves to promote healing in damaged tissues. The shockwaves lead the body to respond by increasing the blood circulation and metabolism in the impact area. This has the effect of accelerating the body’s own healing processes.
The shockwaves can also break down calcifications within tendons and damaged tissue.
Shockwave Therapy can be used to treat chronic inflammation in tendons throughout the body.
HOW EFFECTIVE IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY?
Up to 70% of tendon problems that have not improved with other treatments are significantly improved by shock wave therapy. Treatment effects are usually seen within a couple of weeks, but it can take several months for the maximum treatment effect is seen.
HOW SHOCKWAVE THERAPY WORKS:
The shockwave is delivered to the tissue via a compressed air impulse exerted by the hand piece.
The shockwave radiates through the affected area.
Each treatment takes approximately 5-10 minutes to be delivered.
Usually no more than 3 sessions, one week apart are needed.
No anaesthetic is needed. The treatment itself can be a little uncomfortable during the procedure, but not to the extent that medication is required.
It is common to experience some dull, achy pain in the treated area over the next few days after treatment. This is a sign that the treatment is producing a healing response in the tissues.
